Open Educational Resources

Move over Cam Newton.  There's a new superhero in town and it goes by the acronym of OER! Each week, I receive a newsletter from Edutopia.  I always find this newsletter an interesting read.  From trends in education to recent technology blogs, Edutopia covers it all.  However, this last week I found myself digging deep into what seems to be the newest and latest educational trend-open educational resources (OERs).  By simply googling this topic, one is given 292,000,000 results in about .22 seconds. Never fear, The Literacy Room is here!  As we gear up for our end of the year reflections, perhaps we may find ourselves soaring through a few OERs.
